During her life Harriet not only married Robert Major, but she also married Charles Linney and Mr. Fowler. On June 1, 1863 she, Mr. Linney, and her son, William left England for the Salt Lake Valley. It took them eight weeks to cross the Atlantic Ocean. They traveled aboard the Hameson (another record shows the name Amazon) and landed in New York in the middle of the Civil War. They left New York in a box car, huddled like a bunch of sheep. They arrived at Florence (Winter Quarters), Nebraska the later part of July. Then traveled overland by a Mr. Fowler. Her husband, Mr. Linney, died while crossing the plains. They reached the Salt Lake Valley on October 2, 1863, after four months of severe traveling. In 1870 she, listed as Harriet Fowler, was living in Weber River Valley. She died on January 19,1881 in Hooper, Weber, Utah.
